Oil pressure gauge bracket

Prototype pics... the op gauge is a www.newbonneville.com unit...

Slightly recontoured the ignition relo bracket, shaved approx
5/16" off the overall height of the bracket, and thats good, as it'll mount a bit further back toward the the top clamp and maybe also a bit lower. Got rid of the top plates, decided to go clean, simple, unadorned, purposeful... next proto I'd like to get the oil pressure gauge on the top of the bracket instead of the bottom... just to see :D

Seth,
I think that's what I'm looking for, EXCEPT substitute an A/F Ratio gauge. What size gauge (width, depth) fits the bracket? (Well done, as always!)

Paddyboy, thanks... I'm working on fine-tuning the securing components, then it should be good to go...

Greg, that's your old oil pressure gauge - dontcha recognize it? :D

It's approx 1.57" OD... anything close to 1.5"
would probably work great... anything beyond that, would need to
revise the bracket by pushing everything up & out, due to clearance between
the cast mounting lugs on the Bonnie's top clamp. Can't just stick the a/f in
a hole, gotta have something to hold it securely, cup or clamp or combination
of both... at that point may be better designing a whole new bracket, possibly putting an a/f gauge at the top of instead of the bottom... similar to what Steve did here http://www.newbonnevilleriders.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1840

... but with a new bracket shape & custom indicator housing... as ever, the challenge would be getting all components as far back toward the top clamp and as low as possible...

I wish there was a 1.5" (38mm) A/F gauge, but I can't find one. Since most after-market gauges have a 2 1/16" (52mm) O.D., maybe that's what you should design for. The Innovate XD-16 A/F gauge is only 3/4" thick. The Innovate G5 is much thicker/deeper.

(Aside: I knew you'd find a good use for that oil pressure gauge!)

Greg... that 2 1/16" OD seems to be THE only available size... seems kind of odd, but I've looked as well... can't seem to find anything smaller... it's a damn
A/F OD conspiracy if you ask me... :D

AWESOME job!
That's exactly what I need for my bike.
Same OPG from Brent, but it has to be done on a Thruxton cluster.
I can use with the gauge like this proto or the gauge on top.
Your call Seth!
Again outstanding job.

Carlos - cool pics - thanks!

Honored to work with you on the incomparable 1087SFS...

The upper triple clamp recess that allows the bracket to mount flush... very
cool detail!

It is my Honor Seth!
The recess is good, but your bracket fits like you had the triple tree in your hands when you fabricated the mount!
Absolutely fantastic!
