Mr. Shorts -

Why don't you allow for a pic in the signature like BSB, that would be cool.

Also, what's the policy on posting up "tasteful" pictures of the fairer sex?

no pictures in sig lines for now. after things get going and I see what's-what ... I may consider them.

This aint your momma's forum. There will be no filters for profanity and such, but dont get too carried away with calling some a C U Next Tuesday.. tasteful pictures are allowed, but NO Hardcore Porn. It's all in the forum rules.

damn right.

Well done in doing this so quickly
and good to see old friends here as well.

Seeing an individual Scrambler thread is really great!
And very useful to address some the bike's unique "dirty" mud-manque traits.

Could we also have a Road Trip section?

And, do we need a four pix only maximum per post.
Both ADV & GT-Rider, on which I post regularly
do NOT have this restraint and its a real PITA
when you are on the road having to break a post up to meet this restriction.

Finally, I do think we should allow masthead adverts from those companies
who have shown their support to the marque and the riders:
newbonneville, british customers, D9, Modre etc. etc.
But Please ensure they don't become a visual eye-sore and DON'T allow FLASHING Ads!
Especially from phsychics/phsychos who have no bearing on our passion.
Hooters, however, could be an exception, if it was visually arresting and tastefully done!::D

I agree. A few ads from companies that serve our needs and interests could be a benifit and the revenue can help insure the success of the site. The problem comes when generating the revenue becomes the site objective.

Exactly.

I've taken a different approach with Vendors and banner ads. I dont like banner ads, but having Vendors here to field questions about their products/etc is a plus for the community. If you look down on the forum, you'll see a "Vendor" section. D9 is already listed. If a Vendor accepts my offer, I will create a sub-listing for THEM and them only. They can create threads about indivdual parts, monthly specials, .. with really no limit. It's their area.

Jim

That's great - if you can survive financially without them.
Your solution of a vendors' forum is far better and does not
create visual clutter.

A donation is far better than a subscription.

Do, however, see if you can address the 4 pix max please.

Well done on a great effort.

Yes, please do because those Rhodie-pictorials are great. Not to forget the ones of BonnieLass.

I like that idea of some sort of "On the Road" section where people who are traveling can post a road report for us so we can follow along. I'm not sure if it is possible but maybe you can admin that part to except more than 4 pix on a page and keep the rest of the forum locked down to 4 per page. Just a thought.

You can post ride reports under Events for now.

As for 4 pics (of anything) per post ... look up at the banner that runs along the top of this page. It dont say rat.net. we here at newbonnevilleriders.com strive to project a rub against your morals and good standings. IOW ... have you even tried to post up more than 4 sourced images?

If you want to load them to this site, then yes ... only 5 pics at a time per post are allowed in the attachment manager. Otherwise, go get a photobucket account and img src them to your report.

Have at ya!!

I havent tried posting up a bunch of pics yet Rhodie. How many pics can you put in a single post if you hosted them from an outside site like photobucket?

edit: just saw you said four ... I'll see if it's a programing thing we can modify.
