I'll give it a shot:

first you need the "URL" of the image: the one below looks like this: http://i28.tinypic.com/2i78u44.jpg
Without being blue of course...it will be plain text like the rest of this text.
an image url will always end in an image format suffix: .jpg .gif .bmp or some such

then you highlight it: right mouse click, and select copy, (this lets you paste it again later)

Go to the button at the top of the message box
http://i26.tinypic.com/2r2998m.jpg

after you press the image button a little box pops up
http://i29.tinypic.com/20zxvsj.jpg

delete the http that is in there you most likely wont need it.

you again right click(inside the empty box) this time selecting paste to put the url in the empty field
like this:
http://i29.tinypic.com/343rv6g.jpg

http://i28.tinypic.com/2i78u44.jpg

i'm adding to this as I upload screencap pics now more info to come. more info in next post

To get the URL of most images you can do it several ways:

1: hover mouse over image and right click image location(this is mostly for firefox browser but I think it's in the new version of explorer too):
http://i26.tinypic.com/ieif5k.jpg

2: the most common way is to hover, right click, select properties and then get the url from there:
http://i25.tinypic.com/npo2f7.jpg

then you find the url in the pop up there:

http://i30.tinypic.com/23wjzwm.jpg

again this is using Firefox broser your experience down the rabbit hole may be different.

some places like tinypic.com give you an easy way to select the url in whatever format you want and copy/paste for/to wherever you want.

note that when you use the code from tinypic you do not have to use the little popup box in the message editor here because the URL is already inside of the proper code tags to use in the forum which makes it easy.

more as I add it here

OK - it was brought up before, the default setting on vbulletin is a max 4 pics per post. I just edited that and increased it to 7 pics per post. Please dont get out of hand with it, aight? thanks.
